Full description
Maniac Mode is a full-fledged Maniac game mode for CS2 without CounterStrikeSharp. Runs on Metamod and the Pisex framework (utils / players / menus).
🔪 How a round works
At the start of the round, the plugin selects maniacs: first those assigned by an admin, then players from the queue, then random ones. The number of maniacs depends on online player count and is configured via the balancer. Maniacs play as T, everyone else as CT. The maniac is immortal, and survivors only have a knife to break hiding spots. Until the maniac is released, dead survivors respawn. Living players take no damage from the map, though killzones still work. The maniac release timer is set for each map individually.
👥 Abuse-free teams
Only maniacs play as T: others are blocked with a "team is full" message. If there is no one on T, the next joining player becomes the maniac. A maniac cannot kill themselves via kill or change teams until the end of the round. If the maniac leaves the server before the hunt begins, a replacement is assigned automatically.
🧟 Zombie round
Triggered by player vote, with an online player threshold and round cooldown. A killed survivor turns into a maniac and spawns at their death location.
🎺 For players
• maniac queue;
• survivor whistle via R/E key or command, with cooldown;
• speedometer: speed, maximum speed, color indication, and WASD/jump inputs;
• maniac release timer and release sound, both toggleable in settings;
• screen color flash on the maniac's screen upon a kill;
• all settings are saved in MySQL, with an entry in the general !settings menu.
🛠 For admins
• assign a maniac for the next round;
• manage the queue: move up, remove, or add a player;
• change the map timer via menu or command, release the maniac early;
• place "Maniacs in round" 3D text on the map with auto-update;
• reload config without a restart;
• access to each option is configured separately: Pisex admin system permissions or flags.
⚙️ Every parameter in the config is commented out, and all texts are moved to a translation file (RU/EN). The weapon giving function index, which might break after a CS2 update, can be changed in the config without recompiling.
